THE LONELY ONE
The Lonely One cries. Her wail is a beacon for a
love lost. Although her lover senses her cries he cannot attend to
her, for he is in a separate limbo. Their bittersweet romance carries on after death.
Their families disapproved of their love so they took
their own lives in order to live forever in death. But much like life, the
afterlife can be cruel. They drift separately, lips never joining,
warmth never felt. The hereafter has not afforded them the ability to feel
each others presence, though they moan and complain.
What they truly feel is uncertain, but it is suspected
that they relive the moment of their death like an echo that goes on
forever, or perhaps like a funhouse mirror reflection that trails on to
infinity.
Sometimes they might feel, for a fleeting moment, that
each other is near, but just out of reach. In these times their desperation
grows, often echoed in our world in the form of a variety of disturbances.
If you listen carefully you may hear their solemn cries
and the beating of their lonely hearts. But do not fear these somber
shadows, for they only desire love, no different than the living do.
